instructions for buddybuzz!

  1. We strongly suggest you read at least three articles right away. Reading in BuddyBuzz can be fast and easy, but the first time it'll seem odd. Give your brain time to learn. You'll start noticing progress after a couple minutes. You'll get better, we promise!

  2. BuddyBuzz Start Page

    Start Page

    After you log in, you'll be presented with this page. Select Options, then Start. If it asks Allow Network Access?, select Yes.

    Articles Page

    New articles come fresh off the internet and aren't customized. Top picks for you are picked based on what you've read, so you may want to wait until you've read something to use it. Widely read contains the most popular articles and Recently read contains articles that have just been read by others. Pick one.

    From here you can browse the articles and pick whichever you like. Notice the length icon to the left of each article; the more pages, the longer the article. For example, “Monkeys Attack” is longer than the rest of the articles.

    Info provides the full title, author, number of words, and who posted the article. Read opens the article. Remove takes the article away from your list of articles. Rate lets you rate the article. Select Read.

  6. BuddyBuzz Before Reading

    The organization that provided the article is located at the top left corner, the speed at which words flow (the Words Per Minutes) is located at the top right. There is a bar towards the bottom that tracks your progress through the article.

  7. BuddyBuzz During Reading

    After you hit start, the article will begin to flow according to your Words Per Minute.

    UpUp increases the words per minute. Start slow, as you get better you'll be able to really crank it up.

    DownDown decreases the words per minute

    LeftLeft skips back to the beginning of the given sentence.

    When you hit pause, you can access the Options page.
